Hello Tony
Thanks for that information. I was going to try further west if I had no success around
the Corwen area. I'll keep them in case. The two wedding certs do state that his
father was a John Robert(s), ag labourer - dead by April 1861.
According to the censuses, Robert was born Merionethshire in 1851; Wales in 1861 and
Llansilin in 1871 & 1881. he died in 1890 aged 69. A thorough search has been carried
out on the available Llansilin records but nothing was found. That's why I was
relieved to find the 1851 entry.
Robert had a sister called Jane.
Thanks again
Judy

Hi Judy,
Sorry I don't have your parishes but the way those folk walked, Llangar &
Llandrillo are not too far away:
From my notes taken from the Llandrillo BTs for the period 1820-1822:
1822 Apr 23 : Baptism : Robert child of Robert Roberts. J.Lloyd, vicar.
1822 Jan 13 : Baptism : Robert child of David Roberts and Jane his wife of
Coed Molfa, labourer. J.Lloyd, vicar.
1821 Nov 26 : Baptism : Robert child of Morgan and Cath. Roberts of
Llechwedd Cilan, labourer. J.Lloyd, vicar.
1821 Apr 3 : Baptism : Robert child of Evan Roberts of Branas isa, farmer.
J.Lloyd, vicar.
1821 Apr 3 : Baptism : Robert child of Richard and Mary Roberts of Bacher
isa, farmer. J.Lloyd, vicar.
Strangely compared to the above, I found no Robert Roberts in my notes
taken from the Llangar BTs in the period 1818-1824.
However I did not consider any patronymic naming at this time.
Cheers, Tony in White Rock, BC

Hi
I wonder if SKS with access to the above records might be able to find the
baptism of a Robert Roberts, 1820-1822. >My Clwyd FHS records don't go
that far.
Until recently, I though he was born Llansilin but in the 1851 census
(Llanarmon DC) it states Merionethshire.
His father is, hopefully, named John (consistent on both his wedding certs!).
Thanks ever so
