"Hanes Plwyf Llanfor" by J. H Roberts, Tynycoed, was the prize
winning essay at Bala Eisteddfod held in June 1893 (Source: "Y Cymro"
at Welsh Newspapers Online) Beta)
A copy is available at the National Library of Wales under the
following reference:
J.H. Roberts, Hanes Plwy' Llanfor, y traethawd buddigol yn Eisteddfod
y Bala, 13 Gorff. 1893 c.f. Casgliad J.R. Hughes 42 Y Seren, 19 Mai 1894
The "other" J. H. Robers was probably Pencerdd Gwalia (1848-1924).

A quick look at the Dictionary makes it very very unlikely that J H
Roberts
and John Henry Roberts are one and the same person - no connection to
Llanfor and he was a musician
