Peter,
He was born 5 Jan 1810 [cal. from age at death] I found a Wm Phillips in 1837 emigrating
from Wales, age 27 with is wife and two children, one misnamed, but correct age. I have
handwritten letters from him signed William En Phillips. None typed.
If this is the right person his baptism reads; W'm son of Evan Philip and Catherine of
Ismynydd
This William had an older brother Philip Evan; father Evan Philipp, his mother was
Catherine Williams.
Around the right time for his marriage I found a William William marriage to a Margaret
Davies. One witness was Robert Phillips (another brother)
I hope this is of some help.
Thanks,
Jane

Jane,
>My ancestor who emigrated to New York from Parc, Sarnau,
Merionethshire
signed his name William En Phillips.
But I think he is your gg-grandfather so probably early 1800s? Is this the
period to which you refer? What is his estimated birth year?
The middle name of En. E superscript n. Is that in writing or is it
typewritten?
