Ah, that explains it. Thank you. Will try Welsh Newspapers Online.

Looking for information about St Michael's Church, Ffestiniog, and its ministers;
could not find any reference in Esgobaeth Llanelwy.

Esgobaeth Llanelwy deals only with churches in the Diocese of St Asaph. Ffestiniog is in
the Diocese of Bangor.
I used another method recently: if you know the timeframe, and it's in the 19th
century, try a search on Welsh Newspapers Online Beta
(
http://papuraunewyddcymru.llgc.org.uk/en/home?).
It worked for Mallwyd and Llanymawddwy between 1860 and 1870. Reports of harvest
festivals provided a list of local ministers who officiated at the services.

Hi Tom
I thought I would browse through your family tree before I replied.
Unfortunately I haven't been able to find any mention of either place name.
Probably I will need to fork out for some certificates before I can find
proof of some facts. Sometimes you discover that there is no proof to be
found and some here might fall under that category. But if you have any
information I would be very grateful.
Angharad

Gosh, thank you very much for this! I have been reading about my
Grandfather and Great Aunt and Great Grandfather in the early 1900s in
Dolgelley! Just amazing to see these old papers! Have to confess I am
limited to the English Language ones - I so wanted to learn Welsh when I
was a child, but my Mother wouldn't teach me as she spoke Welsh with her
school friends when she saw them and suspect they talked about things
she didn't want a 5 year old (and older too) to know about. It's still
something I feel sad about.
Thank you again Ken Richards! :-)
Best wishes from Liverpool, UK,
Maggie
