Thank you Beryl . My slip up about Michael Jones. Have you accessed the
noncomformist registers on Ancestry .com pr Ancestry.co.uk ? I cannot on a
quick visit seem to find ones relating to the Hen Gapel. No sign of any of
those mentioned below. Thank you however for your offer for help. As you see
I'm trying to discover from christening records which of the Buarth Meini
sons are the father of John Jones Buarth Meini 1841 and Laura Jones / Owens
Talardd. I know from his marriage certificate that Evan Jones Buarth Meini
( family there in 1871 - father of Watkin Jones phpto in E D Rowlands's
book) was the son of Evan Jones. Now I find that John's son another Evan
Jones born 1843 after his parents deaths is I believe boarding with a Henry
Jones and wife Mary ( son of Richard and Jane Jones) Cefn Prys and
described as a cousin. So I would like to discover how he was a cousin. I'm
not sure as yet what happened to his sister Jane . Can I contact you off
line sometime ? Any help re these families would be greatly appreciated. I
have gone back to 1696

Hello Angharad I am the Beryl Hughes Jones (now Griffiths) referred
to who
collated the grave inscriptions at yr Hen Gapel. I do have some
information
about both Buarthmeini and Talardd - what are you looking for? I've found
that I can access all the Llanuwchllyn nonconformist registers on Ancestry
now. It is important to note that the congregation actually split during
Michael Jones's (Michael D Jones's father) time as minister - but the
registers for both congregations are available on Ancestry. Could the
Buarthmeini family have attended Penstryd in Trawsfynydd? Baptisms for
Penstryd are also available on Ancestry and on film in the Dolgellau
Record
Office.
Let me know if I can help in any way.
Beryl
