HI Tom,
The newspaper 'Seren Cymru' is online, but that was published in Swansea and may
not be the one available in the Bala area that you want to see. There is a Bala newspaper
called Y Celt (1878-1907) on the site. Two other newspapers that might be worth a look
with Bala in mind include the Llangollen Advertiser (1860-1893) and Y Cymro (Lerpwl
a'r Wyddgrug (1890-1919), which include items regarding Bala, especially the religious
news.
You can select to search either or both of the newspapers in the 'Find an Article
Section' of the main page. There is also a box which lists all of the papers currently
online. The selection of newspapers is augmented from time to time. For example, I noticed
the North Wales Express and the North Wales Weekly News had been added the other week.

search on a regional and time basis. Insofar as Ardudwy is concerned, I would check the
Cambrian News, Y Dydd and Y Goleuad. Depends on what you are looking for. Bear in mind
that newspapers are published in Welsh and in English, and that only the Cambrian News is
mainly in English.

check the North Wales Chronicle which is available to from 1827 to1900. There are other
newspapers in Welsh on this site for the period 1850 until 1900 including Y Baner and Y
Genedl Gymraeg, which crops up later. Y Baner and Y Genedl were published in Welsh (aside
from advertisements and train time tables).

think about it there may have been similar publications in Porthmadog and Blaenau
Ffestiniog . I have found that the coverage in Y Dydd is quite good for the general area,
but I admit a bias towards that newspaper.
