Penrhyndeudraeth falls into the same category as Ardudwy and my response (updated) to a
similar question the other day:
Go to Welsh Newspapers Online
http://welshnewspapers.llgc.org.uk/en/home
This provides a range of newspapers from at least 1860 until about 1910. You can search
on a regional and time basis. Insofar as Ardudwy is concerned, I would check the Cambrian
News, Y Dydd and Y Goleuad. Depends on what you are looking for. Bear in mind that
newspapers are published in Welsh and in English, and that only the Cambrian News is
mainly in English.
Bit more difficult after 1910 until more newspapers are available online through this and
other portals. Even so, Welsh Newspapers Online is a great place to start.
If you a member of a library with access to British Newspapers Online, I would also
check the North Wales Chronicle which is available to from 1827 to1900. There are other
newspapers in Welsh on this site for the period 1850 until 1900 including Y Baner and Y
Genedl Gymraeg, which crops up later. Y Baner and Y Genedl were published in Welsh (aside
from advertisements and train time tables).
I had not heard about the newspaper in Barmouth that Alwyn mentioned, and come to think
about it there may have been similar publications in Porthmadog and Blaenau Ffestiniog . I
have found that the coverage in Y Dydd is quite good for the general area, but I admit a
bias towards that newspaper.
The National Library of Wales may have records of these newspapers and perhaps actual
copes , so it's worth asking there.
