Hello Bob again,
Wow! You keep coming up with triggers for me to work with.
Well, Anglesey is not Caernarvonshire I must admit, but way back in my tree
I have a Griffith Roberts who married Catherine Roberts. However, when I
ordered the marriage certificate etc., I found that her father was called
Robert Hughes. On the census she said she was born in Llanllyfni, Caernarvonshire.
Now I put the different surname down to the fact that she may have used a
patrynomic. She used Roberts instead of Hughes because her father was named
Robert. I have had difficulty finding her baptism, probably because the family
became nonconformist.
Anyway, further than that. You mention that Nebraska seemed to be the final
destination of your family.
Well, in 2003, my son and I travelled to Council Bluffs, Iowa. We stayed a
while, and while we were there, we ook trips to Nebraska. Once to Omaha, and
another time to (forgotten), but the capitol letter B, is in my memory.
Sorry.
Yes, there are a few caravan parks in Duffryn now. The farmers have diverted
their interests into modern ways of making money, by leasing their land as
such.
All for now,
Regards,
Maureen
