Hello,
I'm new to this group, and this is grasping at straws, but I have a Jacob
Jones born in Wales and married there to Rebecca (unknown). He died in
Washington Co, PA in 1785, naming children Jacob (Jr), Margaret SHIVELEY,
Elizabeth Headley and Thomas.
Jacob Jones Jr. born about 1735, married 1st to Stella VINCENT in Wales.
He probably came to PA with his father. He married 2nd in 1763 to Sarah
TOMKINS at Abington, Montgomery Co, PA. She may have been Quaker.
Of course, I am unable to connect him to a specific area in Wales; no
paper trails that early. I'm hoping someone might recognize the surname
VINCENT.
Thank you,
Carol Jones Wilson

Subject: [MER] Jones family
Just putting some info out again.? Hope to find family in Wales.
My David Jones was born in 1709 near Bala on the farm called Maesy Fallen
(sp).
I am trying to find out his father and mothers name and if there were
siblings or even cousins from the area.
There seems to have been a migration of Jones'/? around 1731 from Wales to
the US.? Pennsylvania.? Quakers.?
Davids father was a minister but NOT in the Quaker church.? David joined
with the Quakers but in the US returned to episcapal.? He helped build a
church in
Churchtown in Chester Co, PA.
Is any of this striking any cord with any Jones/? families.
Thanks for reading
Thank you for all the hard work on these lists.
