On 16 April 2007 I was at the Gwynedd Archives in Dolgellau and took the following notes
on all the ROBERTS and HUMPHREYS baptized between the years 1813 and 1837 from the
microfilmed records, "Register of Mallwyd baptisms, 1813-1894." Mallwyd was a
parish of the Church of Wales at that time, I was told. Mallwyd and its church are located
about 11 miles southeast of Dolgellau on the A470, just inside the boundary of Snowdonia
National Park.
HUMPHREY, Lewis and Elizabeth MORGAN his wife (he a Labourer, abode = Clippiau
[Clipiau]/Mallwyd) had a
son Morgan baptized 14 November 1813, no. 27
HUMPHREYS, John and Jane (he a "Joiner," abode = Mallwyd) had a
daughter Mary baptized 20 January 1816, no. 79
HUMPHREYS, Hugh and Rebecca, had a
daughter Margaret baptized 6 January 1827, no. 243
daughter Mary baptized 26 October 1830, no. 273 (father a Carpenter, abode = Mallwyd)
son Robert baptized 17 June 1832, no. 289 (father a Joiner, abode = "Pasucha"?
[Plasucha?])

illegitimate daughter Catharine baptized 19 October 1817, no. 116

illegitimate son Hugh baptized 23 April 1820, no. 158
ROBERT, Ellis and WILLIAM, Elizabeth (abode = "Marhycheth Moran"? [Machynlleth
--?]) had an illegitimate son William baptized 28 May 1820, no. 160
ROBERTS, Robert and Jane (he a Labourer; abode = Mallwyd)
had a daughter Catherine baptized 16 July 1820, no. 165

son David baptized 31 October 1827, no. 240, W. Pughe, Rector [David and Catharine
(HUMPHREYS) ROBERTS were my great-great-great-grandparents]
