The Cynefin Project - a site that shows tithe maps and tithe schedules for Wales is
launched:

The site is a work in progress. There are currently about half a dozen maps and schedules
available for Merionethshire online.
Recently, I spent a couple of hours exploring the Corwen area and was impressed. The
information in the schedules includes the owner, the occupier, the name of the farm/unit
of land, the names of fields, the area and use of the land. This information can be cross
referenced with census schedules for 1841 and 1851 and early OS maps made available online
by the National Library of Scotland:

The presentation of tithe maps are as clear as could be managed. The map for Gwyddelwern
was in rough shape before the conservators worked on it:

The source map for Corwen is was in good condition. The map is oriented from north to
south, instead of south to north as on OS maps. It helps if you have a basic knowledge of
the area and have memorized the names of important farms and their locations such as Rug,
Trewyn and Penybont and Rhaggatt, then it all starts to make sense.
In all, a worthwhile site.
