Try the book Welsh Founders of Pennsylvania. It is a great resource. My family is from
the same region. Contact me directly and maybe we can share or compare notes. My email is

Subject: [MER] finding earlier information re ancestors who migrated to pennsylvania c
1680s -90s
Several of my ancestral families originated in Wales. Sadly their origins have not
descended with the families' growth down through these many generations AND the Welsh
language is not taught in our schools
Notably members of the Thomas, Roberts, Humphreys, Miles, Davies, Edwards, and Jones are
prominent in my family records. The first three arrived in the Welsh Tract c 1690-1693
and sons of one married daughters of the others E.G., Abel Thomas m Elizabeth Humphreys;
their son John m Jane Roberts, daughter of John; and John's son Jesse m Sarah Beckett
[she was originally from Cheshire].
Was Elizabeth Humphreys a daughter of Samuel Humphrreys and Elizabeth verch Rees? I think
so.
A daughter of James Miles m William Davies. I think both of those families were from
Radnorshire.
I think my first proven Jones ancestor was the son of a 'minister of the established
church'; David was born in a farmhouse at "Maesyfallen" Parish of
Llanuwchllyn Merioneth Wales - according to early family records which hopefully are
accurate.
Thus I really need help in knowing where to look for and hopefully find more information
and records.
I will happily share what i have learned so far.
