Dianne,
Do you know where in America he went? He was most likely here during the
American Revolution. If you have a State name, the DAR/SAR Daughters and
Sons of the American Revolution might be able to help you.
I found a David Jones that was born Aug 1709 in Merioneth and he died 1784
Bangor Maine, USA He was buriied in the Bangor Churchyard, Reading,
Pennsylvania. This difference in Stae of Death and buriel seems a little
odd, but not impossable.
This Davis Jones was married to Elizabeth Davies on 10 May 1735 and she was
born in 1713 Pennsylvania. I don't know if this one is yours, but, it seems
to have some good points. If he is yours you could check with the SAR in PA.
I got this from
www.familyseach.org
http://www.harrisburgdar.org/programs.html
http://www.statelibrary.state.pa.us/libraries/cwp/view.asp?a=3&Q=37509
Here are a couple of websites that you can look at.
Not much, but, I hope it helps,

Jones family search
I am still searching for any Jones's in Wales or elsewhere that may be
related.
I am a descend of David Jones born in Bala 1709, he emigrated in 1731
married and did rather well with a big family.? I know his father was a
minister, prob episc or Luth.? David joined a bunch of Quakers but went
back to Episc after he got to America.? Sorry Quakers.? His father had
remarried and it was said he did not care for his new stepmother.? So
there might be half siblings and I would dearly love to find some of them.
Does this strike anyones bells.
Thanks
Dianne Jones
