Jeremy - Thank you so much for all that history. I have the will for David Jones which was
proved Apr.23, 1850. Jane (Thomas) & David Jones were married 1811.They had 2
daughters Gwen & Jane. Jane married Evan Jones 1845 at St. Tydecho and they had 2
daughters Ann and Mary Jones and a son David.
Jane (Thomas) Jones lived with her daughter Jane and son-in-law Evan until 1861 then I
found her at Penybont Cottage C.P. Penant on the 1871 census. I believe she died Sept.
1878 at Machynlleth age 88.
By 1871 the Evan Jones family were still at Cae Peris but by 1881 Evan's wife Jane had
died and the son David had married a Jane Griffiths and they had a son Evan Jones.
By 1891 they had 3 children - Griffith Evan, Gwen and a son David. The father Evan Jones
79 was still living with them but he had died by 1901. In 1891 and 1901 they were at Troed
y Rhiw.
It appears that John & Gwen Evans and daughter Kate were living at Yr Aber in 1881.
It is so hard to research and sort out these families as the same names continue on for
generations, don't they?
Thank you again for your interest and help. Every bit helps.
Catherine
