Hi just seen your message asking about Frongoch. I was brought up in the area
(Cwmtirmynach) and went to the small primary school at Frongoch (Ysgol Bro Tryweryn). It
is a very small village with a primary school and one shop. There used to be a train
station there (closed late 50's/60's)and previously on the school site was a
military camp where some of the Irish freedom fighters were imprisoned including Michael
Collins - the camp was split into two sites. Some German soliders were also imprisoned on
the site during the Great War and previous to that there was a whiskey distillery on the
site owned by the landowners - the Price family of Rhiwlas, near Bala. Please let me know
if I can help you further.
