Hi
The answer for the Meirioneth records is at the Dolgellau branch of the
Gwynedd archives. It is situated in the same building as the library. You
will find directions etc on the internet if you google Dolgellau archives.
You will find the parish records there - the noncomformist records are
really very sparce. You could look at the Hugh Wallis website to see if
there are any chapels in the area. But only a few early records have
survived. However it is best to check with the record office -email or
phone - as I believe that Pennal is in Montgomeryshire and would be found in
the Powys record office which is in Llandrindod Wells

Subject: [MER] Pre-1837 birth and marriage records
Where may I reliably search for 1791-1827 birth and marriage records
from
Merioneth, N Wales.? The ancestors in question were non-conformists and I
don't know their parish or chapel but they were registered as married in
Pennal. Morgan Morris b. about 1791 in Towyn, and married Catherine Jones
in Pennal 1827.
