Referring to Wikipedia, the spelling appears to be Dolgellau (see

Yes. The town is now known as Dolgallau.
The Dictionary of the Place Names of Wales notes the following variants
of the name over time:
Dolgethleu 1294-5, Dolgethly 1292-3, Dolgelle 1437, Dolgelley 1552,
Dolgella 1769 and Dolgelly 1837
