Helo Jane
I believe it is correct to use both Meirioneth (Meirionnydd) and
Meirionethshire. ( Sir Feirionnydd) In Welsh the 2 versions also live side
by side. I believe that Bryn Banon is the accesptable form
Hope this helps

Subject: [MER] General genealogy question
I'm in a quandary about entering the locations for Wales in my
genealogy
program and hope someone would be kind enough to help me.
Which is the proper way to write the county of Merioneth? Is it Merioneth
or Merionethshire?
Also, could anyone tell me which is proper: Brynbanon, Bryn banon or Bryn
Banon?
I will appreciate any suggestions you can give me.
Jane
