Mr. Wolf,
I belong to this group for the surname Jones, which I have not traced to
an exact region in Wales, so I do not usually join in. But, I have
question. My Jones married an Elizabeth WOLF, and one US census says she
was born in Wales, another says Pennsylvania and another Ohio. Is WOLF a
Welsh name, and can you give me any background to it's origin? I assumed it
was not a Welsh name, but perhaps she could have been born in Wales....
Thank you!

Is this Bryn Banon, Bala? If so, please could you explain your
interest? I have indirect links to the Davies family who farmed there
in the 19th century.

 Helo Jane
I believe it is correct to use both Meirioneth (Meirionnydd) and
Meirionethshire. ( Sir Feirionnydd) In Welsh the 2 versions also live
side
by side. I believe that Bryn Banon is the accesptable form
 Hope this helps
