I don't know of any hospital/sanatorium in/near Bala in 1910, but you will be aware of
Alfred's family connections with the Nantmawr/Llanyblodwel/Oswestry area - presumably
through his mother Catherine DAVIES : her birthplace in the 1881,1891 & 1901 censuses
shown as NK/Not Known, "Mopre" (could this be Moelfre, c2mls W of Llansilin,
which is c4mls NW of Llanyblodwel), & Llangollen. I guess that you also know of
details of Alfred's family on the
prothman.org website that I found by searching
(Alfred Owen) Bala. You have also no doubt seen Alfred in the 1911 census as a baker at
10 Plasey St, Bala, with sister Beatrice & daughter Mabel. I have been unable to find
burial of May OWEN at any of the church/chapel burial sites in the Bala area. Her death
certificate would give her place/address of death. Local newspaper would almost certainly
give death announcement - can be accessed at Dolgellau Records Office -also likely to
refer to Alfred's marriage to Sarah DIXON in Bala i!
n 1915.
Best wishes, Jeff.
