Dear Researcher,
We(a number of related family members) have been working on the JONES Family Ancestry,
involoving Llanwrin, Cemmaes, Mallwyd, Dinas Mawddwy, Mallwyd, Garthbeibio, Llangadfan and
Castle Caereinion Parishes. With the exception of Dinas Mawddwy and Mallwyd (Merionethshir
and Bangor Diocese) are in Montgomeryshire and St Asaph Diocese. We born and brought up in
the area and, as such are able to locate places etc fairly easily. Secondly, we have/had a
sound start of appreciating 'who belonged' to the family - up to 5th cousin in
many instances. Thirdly, being able to read Welsh, made reading the MI's easy. Fourth,
access to Registers and accessibility of the National Library of Wales. I think you are
the son/daughter of David Parry Jones? If you are, I was having lunch with his 2nd cousin
earlier today in Aberangell. He is now 84 years old. He would like to meet/hear from you.
My brother has also located much data from the Registers.
Catherine Jones is buried at Cemmaes Methodist Chapel, near the grave of Edward Jones'
uncle, David Jones of Dolyfonddu, Llanwrin. Her husband, Edward Jones is buried at the
Methodist Chapel, Aberangell (where a number of descendants have also been buried). The
reason for Catherine being buried in Cemmaes = Aberangell Chapel had not been opened when
she died. Hope this helps, Dafydd
