Dafydd,
I am interested in any information that you may have about my Jones' who
lived (in the early years of the 1800's) in Llanymawddwy. My great great
grandfather John moved to London in around 1834 where he married and he and
his family lived in North London from then until his death in 1885. His
father John Richard was born in Mallwyd and married Hannah Morgan in around
1800. I have managed to get back to John Richard's parents (Richard
Griffiths and Margaret Williams), but so far no further. Any information you
may find about these people, or about John's siblings (Sarah 1801-1802,
Rowland 1802-, Morgan 1807- or Simon 1809-) would be most welcome.
Chris Jones.

I was discussing Annie Jones with her nephew, Howell Jones over lunch today.
Howell is very excitied at the prospect of hearing from someone who is
related to him through his grandmother Catherine Jones.
My brother, Ken, found Catherine's parents marriage in Mallwyd - 1850 (I
think from memory). Her family used thew traditional Welsh method of using
the father's name as Surname. (eg, Ellis Jones son of John Ellis).
Catherine's father is buried in Corris Churchyard and has a gravestone
according to Howell Jones. When we looked last year Ken and I failed to find
his grave.
On the Edward Jones side, we are up to 15 generations with descendants to
present day for most branches. The population of these upland parishes is
changing so rapidly with people moving in, that my generation is the last
where 'oral information', so much the binding for the transmission of
'family history' will be effective.
I do not have the information ready at hand but will make it available eg
Catherine Jones' MI. Regards and welcome to the Family, Dafydd
