Sion a Sian Thisiad, Gelli Gwiail -- Gwnaeth mam y Sion hwn siwt blanced iddo,
ac am hynny llysenwyd ef yn Sion Wyn. Glynnodd yr enw hwn wrtho, a phan
gafodd wraig or enw Sian, aeth honnon Sian Wen!
Sion and Sian Thisiad of Gelli Gwiail - Sions mother made a blanket suit for
him and for this he was nicknamed Sion Wyn (White John). The name stuck and
when he got a wife named Sian she was called Sian Wen (white Jane)

These are all names followed by the house, farm or cottage where they lived
Dyn cloff ydoedd hwn yn gwneud ysgubau grug. Rhoddair wraig sbas y grug ar y
tan ac ai mwg grug I mewn ir pobty. Pan gai hithau fonet newydd, cadwai hi ym
mhen y pobty, a phan wisgai hir fonet, byddai arogl mwg grug arni! Geini Ifans
oedd ei henw.
He (Thomas Ifans) was a lame man who made rush brooms. His wife put the left
overs from the rushes on the fire and the rush smoke went into the oven. When
she had a new bonnet she kept it above the oven. When she wore the bonnet there
was a strong smell of rush smoke about her! Geini Ivans was her name.

Thomas Jones, Twm Plastrwr, Berth en Gron -- Ceisiai ef wneud peiriant hedeg,
rhyw fath o falwn neu eroplen. Gwnaeth un hefyd ond ni allai ei chael I hedeg,
ac yr oedd yntaun rhy dlawd I fforddio gwelliannau arni. Or diwedd, cafodd
rhywun maleisus gyfle iw difetha er mawr ofid ir hen wr.
Thomas Jones, Twm Plasterer of Berth y Grontried to build a machine that run
some kind of balloon or aeroplane. He built it but couldnt get it to run and he
was too poor to afford improvements. Eventualy someone malicious person
destroyed it to the great dissapointment for the old man.

Huw Parry used to loose half a day taking the bread to the bakehouse instead of
his wife!
