G'day Alwyn.
The address I gave (which was not very distinguishable) was from the 1842
Marriage certificate of James Daniel HOBBS and Jane JONES and appeared to be
one address for both of them.
Your E Mail suggesting that "The Albany" could be a Pub gave me a clue as
James D HOBBS trade in 1846 was given as Publican.(son's birth cert.)
What happened was that I combined both James and Jane's address which should
have read:-
"The Albany" Parish of St James County of Middlesex (For James).
Dolgyu? (for Jane).
Would you or any of the listers know where or what "Dolgyu" was/is.?
Regards.
Richard Hobbs.
Melbourne Australia.
i had
t the address (which was not very distinguishable ) from an 1842 marriage
certificate of James Daniel HOBBS and Jane JONES.

Dear Richard,
I don't think that this is a Dolgellau address. Dolgellau is in the Parish
of
the church of St. Mary. Neighbouring churches are St. Marc, Brithdir,
St
Illtyd, Llanelltyd, and St Machreth, Llanfachreth, I cannot think of a St.
James in the area.
The Albany, sounds like the name of a former inn, as I have a lot of
publicans in my family, I am familiar with the names of former pubs in the
town (also familiar with the present ones - but not for family history
reasons!). The Albany does not ring a bell.
All the best
Alwyn
