Hi Enid,
Llandrillo is about 6-7 miles east of Llanfor on the B4401 towards Corwen.
I am interested in hearing about any clusters of FRANCIS in that area
around 1770.
Thomas Francis' marriage bond in 1795 said that he was of Pennant MGY.
Ann Macdonald Watt kindly explained that doesn't mean he was born there.
I'd be very pleased if you'd send me any 1770s FRANCIS you know of.
Otherwise I might be chasing red herrings all over Wales - perhaps little
red dragons.
The Ellis connection would be from 1750 on his wife Jane Roberts' side of
the family,
who may be the daughter of Thomas Robert Ellis' known as Thomas Roberts in
the Welsh tradition.
cheers and thank you, Tony

where is Llandrillo exactly in the clwyd area.
Is it any where near Llangwm/Llanfor/Llanycil?
I am wondering because I have a whole host of Ellis's that have wandered
so to speak, and I dont know where they went to.
I have picked up on the surname Francis in the registers pertaining to the
above villages.
take care
Enid
