Subject: Thomas FRANCIS Llandrillo 1795
Hi folks,
I wonder if there is anyone with access to Llandrillo PRs?
The list of marriage bonds at the NLW says:
FRANCIS, Thomas, bach., farmer, Pennant, MGY. 1795, Sep 1.at Llandrillo yn
Edeirnion. Jane Roberts. A,B. 128/33.
ROBERTS, Jane, sp., Llandrillo, MER. 1795, Sep 1. At Llandrillo [yn
Edeirnion]. Thomas Francis. A,B. 128/33
I found that the LDS film of the BTs for Llandrillo records only the
baptisms for 1795 -no marriages or burials, unless they have been misplaced
elsewhere on the film.
I only managed to decipher 1793 - 1805 the other evening and must now wait
until next week to explore further. I did find however:
Thomas the son of Thomas Francis and Jane his wife of Blaen-y-Cwm was
baptized January 27th 1796.
a Jane Francis was buried Apr 29th 1801
Thomas the son of John Roberts and Jane his wife of Blain-y-Cwm was born
Dec 8th, Baptized 12th 1804
by which time Thomas Francis and wife Jane must have been working on son
Edward b.Sep.1805 at Blaen Gwnnodl, Llangar.
I also found
Hugh the son of John Francis and Elizabeth his wife of Junant? was baptized
May 21st 1794.
I had a hard time deciphering the _Fr_ancis and the _Jun_ant.
Can anyone confirm the marriage date of Thomas Francis & Jane in the parish
register and the abode of John Francis as Junant?? or something else?
Is the farm Blaen-y-cwm likely to have been a cluster of homes housing the
families of both Thomas Francis and John Roberts?
Is it likely that Thomas Francis' son was born at Blaen-y-cwm, Pennant
Melangell, MGY, but baptized at Llandrillo, MER, in view of the NLW
marriage bond stating that Thomas Francis, bach, was a farmer of Pennant,
MGY.
Perhaps they wanted to please the family of Jane Roberts.
Was there any estate link between Pennat, MER and Pennant, MGY?
Thanks, Tony -in Cornwall, Ontario, Canada
