They have a number of books on Wales (in English and Welsh). I have bought
a number of books from them.
There are 2 that I recommend.
Rails through Bala (About the railroads in Bala)
Fron-Goch and the Birth of the IRA (Who thought that the Irish Republic Army
was born in Wales!!). There are 2 editions.
(When I was in Wales in August, I stayed in Fron-Goch and walked past the
house that was the jail for the IRA prisioners). There is also a plaque
there.

Subject: [MER] Books on the history of Bala and surroundings
Are there any books on the history of Bala and surroundings?
(Also of Llanycil the parish in which Bala lies, or adjacent parishes.)
I am aware of the publication::-
Looking at Bala
subtitled - A historical walk around the town of Bala.
by Rhys Tudur
Published 1993.
This publication is bilingual. The English section is of 32 pages
and the Welsh section is also of 32 pages.
It doesn't have an ISBN.
I have checked the journal of the 'Merioneth Historical and Record Society'
but couldn't find anything.
I also checked indexes to 'Archaeologia Cambrensis' but didn't find anything
either. Perhaps I have overlooked something of relevance?
Regards,
Peter Evans
