1. William D. THOMAS, Died 18 Feb 1899, Lansford, PA, USA: emigrated to U.S. 35 years
before from Aberaman, Wales; survived by his wife and the following children: Attorney
W.G. Thomas of Lansford; T.D. Thomas, a student at State College, Bellefonte, Pa.; C.
Thomas, student at the University of Pennsylvania; Miss Ray Thomas of Philadelphia; Misses
Margaret, May, Reese and Eddie, who reside at home.
2. Thomas W. DAVIS, Died 25 Feb 1899, Scranton, PA, USA: born at Merthyr Tydvil,
Glamorganshire, South Wales, in 1838; superintendent of Sunday school department of the
Tabernacle Church at Merthyr Tydvil at age 18; chosen conductor of the Band of Hope of the
same church three years later; in 1867 emigrated to America. (Article makes no reference
to surviving family.)
3. David X. JONES, Died 5 Mar 1899, Peckville, PA, USA: age 73 years, 6 months and 21
days; born in Glamorganshire, Wales; emigrated 46 years before; married Ann Thomas of
Wilkes-Barre, sister of the late John Thomas of Luzerne Borough; she died 8 years ago;
survived by the following daughters and sons: Mrs. A. Raynor and Isaac Jones, of Luzerne
Borough; Mrs. E.L. Trescott of Kingston; Frederick Jones, of Sugar Notch; William, of
Ashley; Mrs. John Powell, of this city; and John and Edward of Peckville.
