Alwyn,
for some reason your message has only arrived this morning.
I have not worked out how they connect to the other Ephraims, but I did
have some correspondence with Dave Roberts a couple of years ago and he
believes he is descended from this line. I enclose what he sent me
below. If you want his email address I can let you have it - I don't
know if he is a member of the MERIONETH list, as I think he contacted me
through my mention of Ephraim on a surnames page.
It is possible that Humphrey Ephraim was a son of Ephraim Joseph (died
ca 1803), though the only children I know of for this Ephraim are: John,
Joseph, Cadwaladr(1756-1822), Jane, Mary and Margaret. Ephraim is said
to have had two wives, Gwen and Catrin, but I suppose it is possible
that there were two Ephraim Josephs. He was at the farm Cwm Cynfal. The
earliest use of the name Ephraim is with Ephraim Joseph's grandfather,
Manaseth Ephraim, whose father was presumably called Ephraim. The early
generations of the family seem to be found in Maentwrog, Llanfrothen and
Festiniog, and the farm Ogof Llochwyn features a lot.
If this is of interest to you I have more information, but not on
computer.
Best wishes,
Ann

Hullo,
I was researching my family recently in Dolgellau archives and came on
a probable ancestor Humphrey Ephraim from Trawsfynydd. His daughter
took the name Ann Humphreys. The time is around 1800/20. I have more
exact dates But not to hand at this minute.
Is Ephraim a common name in those parts ?
Could there be a connection with your Ephraim ?
