Hello George,
I don't know Doppog, but you could try looking at
http://www.old-maps.co.uk
Select the County Gazetteer, and then Merioneth and then Ffestiniog.
Then you can move around the maps. To enlarge the index map slightly
click on 2 or 1 - this will make it slightly easier to read, which I
find I need! When you want to search an area in more detail click on
"enlarged view". This is much easier to read, but much slower to load,
and anyway you need to use the small index map for navigation.
The map is dated 1891 which is later than the time you know about, but
if Doppog was a farm it will probably still be there unless it had been
built on or quarried away. But the site is not so easy to use now (at
least on my computer), so you will need a lot of patience.
I have ancestors from Ffestiniog too - my gg-grandmother Margaret
Roberts (b 1813), daughter of Robert Roberts and Catherine Davies, came
from a farm called Cae Canol, which is up a track to the east of Llan
Ffestiniog. She had a sister Gwen (b. 1810) who married Cadwaladr Lewis
in 1829, and Gwen had a daughter Anne Lewis who married a John Ephraim,
and they were in Cae Canol in 1881, so the family had a continuous
connection with this farm for many years.
Best wishes,
Ann
