Hello
Bedd-y-coediwr farm is on the north side of the upper reaches of the
Mawddach valley on the edge of the Coed y Brenin Forest in Trawsfynydd.
There is a small gold mine there (SH 742283) but its workings are reputed to
be among the oldest and the most recent in the area.During the 1930s the
gold for Princes Marina's wedding ring came from this mine and hence its
alternative name - the Princes Marina mine.

Subject: [MER] DAVIES and MORRIS Trawsfynydd
Hi,
Is anyone else interested in DAVIES and MORRIS in Trawsfynydd?
David DAVIES married Sarah MORRIS at Trawsfynydd in 1782. They then
baptise children there followed by another, my great great grandfather,
John DAVIES, at the independent chapel at Penstryd in 1799. He is later
in Dolgellau.
When David and Sarah baptise their children they are descibed as of
Beddycoedwr. Doers anyone knowwhere this is? Again it's one of those
locations/dwellings that don't seem to show up on any maps.
Regards,
Chris Watson
