1. Capt. Thomas J. EDWARDS, Died 10 Aug 1900, Shamokin, PA, USA: born in Glamorganshire,
Wales in 1840; emigrated to U.S. when 15 years old; in 1860 married Margaret Richards;
enlisted in U.S. Army on August 7, 1861; served in Co. A, 4th Pennsylvania Cavalry during
the American Civil War; mustered out August 14, 1864; proprietor of "The Old House at
Home" in Mahanoy City. (No survivors listed.)
2. Thomas HARDING, Died 2 Sep 1900, Miner's Mills, PA, USA: Aged 62; born in
Mountain Ash, Glamorganshire, South Wales; emigrated to U.S. about 10 years ago; wife died
about eight years ago; due to illness was unable to work and resided at the home of Mrs.
Elizabeth Lewis; survived by a son and daughter, William, of Miner's Mills, and Mrs.
John L. Morgans of Plainsville.
3. Mrs. Phoebe EVANS, Died 13 Sep 1900, Plymouth, PA, USA: Age 58; born in Llanfernach,
Wales; emigrated to U.S.12 years ago from Resolven, Wales; survived by husband, W.W.
Evans, who is treasurer of the Baptist Young People's Union of Northeastern
Pennsylvania, and two children, William and Mrs. John H. Ingram.
