Some time ago I asked Alwyn if it was possible to find out as to who might be the parents of Jane Pugh that married Lewis Anwyl of Hendre's Mur, Gent who was also a Churchwarden of Talyllyn.
Since then Glyn Jones of Newark, Notts has kindly sent me The History of the Anwyl family. There I read concerning Jane Pugh - "Possibly one of the daughters of John Pughe of Cwmrhwyddfor Talyllyn (Gent) and niece of Hugh Pughe rector of Llanbedr DC abd Archdeacon of Meir."
I would be most grateful for any information re John Pughe and also Cwmrhwyddor where he lived. Thanks - Norman

Hi John,
It certainly looks like Drws y Nant on the census form. There is a Drws y Nant between Llanuwchlyn and Rhydymain on the Bala Dolgellau road, and also a farm called Drws y Nant Uchaf.

Hello
In the 1881 census Richard Jones said he was born in Bala about 1860; just
found him in the 1891 census Tudhoe Durham at 32 Bishop's Close Cottages but
I can't make out what is written after Merionethshire. Something then 'nant'
looks like.
Anyone local who can make it out? The reference is RG12 4101 folio 55 page
6; can also give a link to the page.
Thanks
John
