I'm afraid I can't help you, only try to pick your brains and research.
I've been trying for about 20 years to find my maternal grandmother's
father.
He is supposed to be of German descent, perhaps mother was a servant ,
governess, etc. at one of the local estates, e.g. Glynllifon.
On his tombstone he is JOHN JONES, age 35.
His marriage certificate gives his father's name as JOHN PARRY, farmer.
That's where the trail ends. I cannot find this particular John Parry.
The difficulty is that John Jones married Ellen Jones AFTER the 1861 census.
They had 3 children, then in 1868 he insisted on going to Cwm y Glo to visit
his ailing cousin. Everyone tried to stop him, but off he went. Of course
he got the illness (death cert. says Typhoid, registrar said treat that with
a pinch of salt.) He died in December 1868 at Maen Coch near Llanwnda and
his young wife died 2 weeks later on Christmas day 1868. My grandmother was
only 9 months old. It all happened between the 1861 and 1871 censuses. So
the little family never appeared on a census as a unit.
I've searched Cwm Y Glo records, I've searched records in the Llun peninsula
where another first cousin of his lived, no sign of any Parrys in that
family.
I'm afraid I'm boring you, I do have other snippets of information e.g. he
started as a husbandman, became a quarry man and a railroad worker.
As his father was John Parry and he was John Jones I've looked into
patronymics, perhaps he had an older brother called Harry Jones, etc, etc.
Any information would be most welcome. I fear I'm going to have to look up
every North Wales census to try and find these people, I just wonder how
many more years it will take! Anyway back to the search.
Oh I did find one family in Caernarfon in 1851, however, not only had the
family disappeared so had the house where they lived by 1861.
I'm clutching at straws whenever I come across any Parrys.
Thanks for reading this.

Subject: [GWYNEDD] Parry - Family History
Hi Lists,
I have just subscribed and would greatly appreciate if anyone could help
with my
research.
I am researching my "PARRY" family, and have little information.
PARRY, Owen B. abt 1825 married ROBERTS, Gwen 1846 at St.Peblig Church,
Gwynedd,
Wales.
PARRY, Owen, parents, PARRY, John and Catherine, unknown.
ROBERTS, Gwen, B. 3.7.1826, parents, ROBERTS, Richard and WILLIAMS, Jane.
Any information for this family would be most helpful.
I look forward to a reply.
Regards
Jan
