> For a number of years my father and I have searched formy gt gt gt
grandfathers younger brother. His name was Hugh Hughes, hewas born in
c1845/6 at Morfa, Llandudno - 1 of 8 children of RichardandElizabeth
Hughes. Hugh shows up on the 1851 census at "Morfa,Llandudno"and in the
1861 census at 13 Madoc Street, Llandudno with his parents. His father
Richard being a copper miner in Llandudno. In 1867, my 3 x gt grandfather,
William Hughes married Harriet BatesofHillmorton, Warwickshire in the
parish church in Hillmorton. Williamwasa plasterer/journeyman and Hugh was
a witness to that marriage.(Perhapshe was a plaster/journeyman - he was c22
by then).Certainly by 1871 census he wasn't living at home in Llandudno.
But agrandson to his father Richard Hughes was staying in Madoc St.
thenightof the census - it may have been the son of Hugh (infact it
certainlywas unless Richard was a bastard). The child was born in
Mold,Flintshire. The next we here of Hugh is a mention in his fathers Will
of 1895 -thenin his sister Annes Will of 1904 he gets amention - this time
shewritesmy brother Hugh who is currently living in America (and gosh
Americaisa big place!)That is the last we here of Hugh. A distant
1000000000th cousin saysthat AN uncle Hugh sent a card to her grandmother
when he was livinginPatagonia.......maybe him/maybe not! who knowsIf this
fits anyone elses story or if anyone has any advice I wouldbe most
Mark Hughes
