I can't help you with Morris JONES, but I saw the name WILLIAM MORGAN.
I have a WILLIAM EDWARD MORGAN (1768-1844) of Amlwch, Anglesey. He
married MARY PARRY (parents: JOHN PARRY of Anelwog/Amelwog, Aberdaron,
Caer. & ANNE THOMAS of Rhosgyll Fawr, Eionydd, Caer). After the Parrys
married, they moved to Llanpatrick, Anglesey.
I have never been able to find the origins of WILLIAM EDWARD MORGAN.
Someone suggested he was from Llanfechell (near Amlwch, I think) and that
his father was WILLIAM MORGAN.
I know this is a wild shot, but do you see any connection?

Subject: [GWYNEDD] Morris JONES, Hafod Arthen
Can anyone help me? I am looking for any information about my gt gt
grandfather, Morris JONES. He lived in Hafod Arthen, Trefriw. In 1879
he
wrote a small booklet 'Hanes Trefriw'. His bardic name was 'Gwyalchen
o'r
Cwm'. Morris claimed to be descended from Morris Morgan, brother of
Bishop
William Morgan.
Morris Jones married Ellen Ellis MORGAN and they had 6 children : Mary,
David (who died aged 8 in 1860), Henry (my gt grandfather), Ellin, David
and
Margaret.
Is there anyone else researching this family?
