This family is found in the Walpole, NH area (Drewsville, NH) area in the United States in
the mid 1800s.
Benjamin F. Evans is recorded as having been the son of Ethan Evans. That's all it
tells about his roots.
I've determined he was maried to Charlotte Turner Oct. 31, 1843 in Chesterfield, NH.
They had children:
Benjamin F., Jr.
Charles E.
Mary C.
Frances A.
Ira A.
Milo A.
Benjamin was married a second time to a Sophia Wyman of Brattleboro, VT in 1864.
By any chance is anyone researching this line of the EVANS family? If so, I'd like to
hear from you.
I do not at this time know where in Wales the family was from, but it is believed North
Wales.
One other EVANS family is recorded as living in the same village at that time:
Leon Chester EVANS, b. Newton, MA, son of Samuel B. Evans & Ella Manley, in May 28,
1910, Mary Ellen b. NW; dau of Edward Tole.
They had children, Raymond Jerome, b. 1911 and Dorothy May, b. 1912.
This is the only clue we currently have to North Wales, but as many of know, when one
Welsh family emigrated somewhere, another Welsh family (kin or neighbors) often moved
along too.
Diolch.
