In going through some of his father's things my husband has found
some information in the form of letters and a few postcards on which
I would like clarification. In one card, an ancestor wrote, "The
original ancestry of the family is dated to Anglsey (Sir Fon often
called 'Mona's'). ....their ancestor is Prince Owain Meredydd of
Mona's Isles, one of the many Welsh Princes who fought the Saxons at
Carvarvon."
The spelling in the quote is how she wrote it. How would I go about
checking and documenting the above information?
The family she is referring to is Richard Williams married to
Elizabeth Thomas who had at least one son, Thomas Williams or it
could be Wm Thomas Williams born about 1800. Thomas Williams moved
to Ffestiniog and married Grace Ellis. He became a minister and
moved to Oneida County in New York State about 1845.
Thanks
Donna
