Merry Christmas to all listers,
if there is anyone out there who feels like giving me a great christmas
present and they have access to the 1841 and/or 1861 census' for the area Conwy -
Bangor would they be kind enough to search for the following for me? I am
looking for a Robert Thomas and a Catherine Thomas. They are recorded upon the 1851
census in Dwygyfylchi as follows;
HO 107/2519 Fo. 8-9 pgs 9-10
Parish of Dwygyfylchi,
Tything of Isa Pen ucha
Pant yr Afon
Robert Thomas Head Marr. 58 joiner Llanllechid, Caernarvon
Catherine Thomas Wife Marr. 48 Llandilyfron, Anglesey
(next page)
Hugh Thomas Son Un 7 joiners son Dwygyfylchi, Caernarvon
John Thomas Lodger Un 38 Quarryman Treforis, Denbighshire
Margeret Roberts Servant Un 13 House Servant Llanfairfechan, Caernarvon
I have uncovered the reference for a potential marriage via the freebmd site
for JUNE 1840 in the Bangor district. I know via Hugh's birth certficate that
Catherine was formerly ROBERTS.
I was unable to find this family on either the 1841 or 1861 census' for
Dwygyfylchi (although I am not surprised as Hugh married in Chester in 1869 and was
resident with his family in West Derby, Liverpool by 1881!!!) I suspect that
in 1841 they may have been resident somewhere around Roberts recorded place of
birth, Llanllechid.
If anybody can shed some light upon either period it would be greatly
appreciated.
Many thanks and seasons greetings!
Glyn
