Hi All,
I am interested in an EDMUNDS family in Llandegai - does anyone else have an
interest?
Anyone know where Bryn-y-cul is?
Bill Griffith-Jones
Essex, UK
The following address appears in the Royal Mail's Postal Address Book
(Wales 1).
Bryn Cul Cottage, Tregarth, BANGOR. L57 4AE
For location go to
http://www.streetmap.co.uk
Select 'Post Code' and enter L57 4AE. Zoom out from the street-map
format by clicking on the [-] button at the bottom right to get a 3
km x 3 km section of the local Ordnance Survey 1:50,000 Landranger
map. You can zoom out further to a 30 km x 30 km map section if
desired.
When the 1:50,000 map section has been displayed you will find that
the corresponding full numerical OS grid reference appears ...
260433,368498.
Go to the Old Maps website
http://www.old-maps.co.uk/ and enter
260433,368498 as OS grid reference.
You will find Bryn-cul on the 1891 map. It corresponds to the
building on present-day maps at grid reference SH603685.
PS Just noticed that Cae-terfyn (just to the NE on 1891 map) appears
as Caeherfyn Farm (another typo) on OS 1:25,000 map.
