Just testing
I don't mean to be rude or to pick on an individual, but I hate "just
testing" messages :-(
There are two boring ways of testing that you are recieving messags sent to a
list to which you subscribe
1 Check the archive:
http://archiver.rootsweb.com/th/index/WLS-GWYNEDD
for this list (change the index/LISTNAME for other lists)
If you have sent a message to the list and it isn't in the archive within 30
minuites, there is a problem
2 Ask the list admin if there is a problem using the template
LISTNAME-admin(a)rootsweb.com
changing LISTNAME for the lists name. So you can contact this list by writing
to:
WLS-GWYNEDD-admin(a)rootsweb.com
The third way is much more interesting. Send a "test message" saying
something about your family: "I am the Grandson of W***m G****t of C*****h are there
any other list members related to her / him? At worst you will get he same
result as you get from a "just testing message"
but at best you might make contact with a distant cousin!!
All the best
Alwyn
