Hi Rachel,
The surnames I'm searching that were associated with Maynol/Maenol, Bangor
(not the estate but the parish) are WILLIAMS and more Williams. I haven't
branched out with the collateral families at present altho' I do have some
names, although no Hughes. Not to say there won't be!
Got any "JOHN Williams, WILLIAM Williams, GRIFFITH Williams or RICHARD
Williams" of Maes y Ceirchie, Maesygeirchan, Maesgeirchan, etc. etc.?
Good luck with your search, Rachel. Something will turn up. Posting on
this list will most likely help you a lot with suggestions or leads at
least.
Bonnie

Bonnie et al-
I also have a connection to the Vaynol/Maenol estate, but have not been
able to get very far in my research. I am looking for Richard HUGHES,
who conducted the Vaenol Glee Society Choir around 1865.
I have so far been unable to find his birth record or locate him in a
census. He is listed in an essay submitted for an Eisteddfod on the
eminent men of Caernarfonshire but it says very little about him besides
listing him as being from Y Felinheli. I have checked census records for
1851 and 61 for Y Felinheli and not found him.
What is the list of names you mention?
