Hello Stan,
You have mentioned the Gwynedd Family History Society a lot recently, but the
one thing that you haven't mentioned is what ongoing or new projects the
society has that list members might be able to help with.
I know that the society has a number of ongoing projects that need a
"physical presence" to be able to help with, such as transcribing grave
stones, but is there anything that list members who live further afield can
help with?
Can the society provide photocopies of census or PR documents that people can
transcribe, for example?
In comparison to other lists the north west Wales lists are very small, with
few of us owing fiche readers or having lots of time on our hands! so I doubt
if the Gwynedd lists could fulfil a "list project" such as transcribing a
whole county census return, as some of the bigger lists have managed to do in
co-operation with their corresponding FHS.
But I'm sure that between the society and the lists we could find something
suitable for a joint Gwynedd FHS / Gwynedd lists project. What do you, and
other list members, think?
All the best
Alwyn
ps most members of the ANG, CAE and MER lists are also members of this one,
so there is no need to reply to all <g>
