To everyone who replies to this message, thank you! I posted it on June 25 I believe and
then was away until June 29.
To Dick Jones, I will get to scanning only the placename for you to look at sometime
today. I have someone in Wales also helping me with this & they suggested that what I
interpreted as ''Yanlleihys' could actually be LLanllechyd or nowadays
Llanllechid. I'll let you be the judge when you see it. The beginning of the word is
very flourished, and now I think that the first 2 letters are actually "lL', a
small l and the 2nd letter a calligraphy capital L.
To David Price, John Williams's place of residence was Maes y Keirchie in the County
of Carnvon, gentleman. Maes y Keirchie, I feel sure, is MaesyGerchen, and nowadays
Maesgeirchen, outside of the city of Bangor. (or part of?)
Hi Yvonne, I'm not sure about the abstract, is this (Maes y Ceirchiog) another
variation on the spelling of Maes y Keirchie ? And my "John Williams" says in
his will that he wants "my body directly to be buried and interred in the Church of
Bangor where my mother and Ancestors were heretofore buried and where my wife Elizabeth
doth now a dayes most commonly sitts and kneels to hear divine service".
Best regards,
Bonnie Henderson
