I don't want to have a discussion about the "contents"
of these sites -
such
as a row about LincsGens prohibition on discussing political matters, for
example. But I would like to ask list members if they think that having a
similar
site for the northwest Wales sites would be a good or a bad idea.
I think the guidelines of the two sites are a bit restrictive and I'd prefer
to leave decisions about appropriateness, etc. to the list administrator.
However, on some of the lists I'm on - not this one - there are sometimes very
basic questions like ' Is there a list for X county', etc. - all questions that
can be answered by using Rootsweb or Genuki.
Perhaps new subscribers could be sent, as a matter of course, some initial
refs and guidelines. Im sure those who join new lists, as their research
progresses, wouldn't object and it would make things easier for newbees.
This is more a general suggestion to Rootsweb rather than Gwynedd.
But please stop the 'I'd love some pictures of (Scotland ) (Wales) (England)
(Ireland)' that are sent to one of the Scottish lists that I'm on.
