David, thanks for your input. Yes, this is one of the many John Williams
down through the generations at Maes y Geirchen, Parish of Bangor. Anything
that you know of any of the Williams or of Maes y Geirchen would be much
appreciated.
Yes, I had another suggestion that the location of Yanlleihys could be that
of Llanllchyd/Llanllchid & I do agree. As I say in another email to the
list today - The beginning of the word is very flourished, and now I think
that the first 2 letters are actually "lL', a small l and the 2nd letter a
calligraphy capital L.
Regarding Pwll y Gley or Pwllybley, I had the suggestion that it is in the
city of Bangor and is now called Pwllybla Road. " . . . sadly there are no
buildings there nowadays, but the path is still known Lon Pwllybla".

Bonnie,
I suspect that Yanlleihys is LLANLLECHYD (modern spelling - Llanllechid)-
a
nearby parish, and very hilly. Pwll y Gley is a mystery.
Was John Williams at Maes y Geirchen, in the parish of Bangor? This farm
was
in the hands of the same family for several generations.
