The lost Valleys: Unique photographs of life in mid-19th century Wales
reveal a vanished world
With their washed-out, almost sepia-like appearance depicting a simpler
existence, these images give a fascinating insight into a community a world
away from the rush of modern life.
These previously unseen photos show the rural Welsh villages of Llanuwchllyn
and nearby Bala, in Gywnedd, north Wales, way back in the 1860s.
