From the Awards registers (BT261/1) at Kew :
Capt Giovanni Tomasich of the Austrian barque "Crono" of Fiuma was awarded a
binocular glass for the following rescue: Dated 4 April 1874. The schooner
"Geraldine" of Caernarfon was struck by a heavy sea whilst on a voyage from
Pomaron to Dublin and totally disabled when about 60 miles WNW of Scilly her signals of
distress were noted by Capt T who bore down to her assistance and sent a boat out at much
risk to take off the "Geraldine"'s crew. The rescued persons were well
treated and transfered to the SS "Mexican" of Liverpool which landed them at
Harve.
Does any one know more about the crew of the "Geraldine" ?
