I am trying to track down the whereabouts of Owen and Gwen Jones during 1841 and 1851.
Gwen was born in 1799 in Llanidan, Anglesey, the daughter of John Evans and Eleanor.
On 20 November 1821 Gwen Jones married Owen Jonesat Llanidan. Owen was said to be of
Amlwch.
On 17 February 1822 their first son, John, was christened at Llanidan. Owen was then a
shoemaker of Brynsiencyn.
By 1823 Owen and Gwen had moved to Llannerchymedd as on 16 March their son Owen was
christened at Llannerchymedd Calvinistic Methodist church. Owen was still a shoemaker and
his parish of birth is given as Amlwch.
No other children of Owen and Gwen were christened at Llannerchymedd, and I have no
further details of Owen and Gwen.
An enquiry to Joyce Hinde of Anglesey Lookup has shown that there was no Gwen Jones in
Llannerchymedd, Amlwch, Llechgynfarwy,or Llantrisant in 1851. There is a Gwen Jones in
Penmynydd, but she was 64 and born in Denbighshire.
It may be that Gwen might be dead by then, but it is also possible that Owen and Gwen
might have moved to Liverpool.
Their son Owen, a blacksmith, was living at 10 Mill Street, Toxteth Park in 1851, and
married to Margaret Jones, a native of Flintshire, and at 45 Bedford Street, also Toxteth,
in 1861.
