I would be grateful if someone could check the 1861 census for Pen y Bont, Cemaes,
Llanbadrig. My ancestor Owen Jones was living there in 1851 and was a ship's
carpenter, and the age given suggests he was born in 1790 in Llanbadrig, but I have not
been able to find his christening in the Llanbadrig parish registers.
His daughter Ellenor was also living in Pen y Bont in 1851, and was described as
carpenter's wife, but her husband Thomas Owen was not at home, so I presume he was on
a voyage.
I know that Ellenor was christened in 1812 at Llanbadrig, when her father Owen Jones, and
mother Anne, were living at Park Lodge, but Owen and Anne's marriage was not at
Llanbadrig, and no other children of theirs have been traced.
I know nothing about Thomas Owen either, except that he was a ship's carpenter, so any
information about him would also be most welcome.
